Book Club Reader Agreement

This Book Club Reader Agreement ("Agreement") is made and entered into by and between Sean Kercher (the Author) and the Book Club Reader as of the date the manuscript is delivered for review.

1. Purpose of Agreement
The Book Club Reader agrees to read the Author's published book (hereafter, the "Work") for the sole purpose of providing honest, constructive feedback and a review of the overall impression of the story. 

2. No Rights or Compensation
The Book Club Reader acknowledges that they do not have any claim to ownership, authorship, or credit regarding the Work. No compensation is offered in exchange for the club reading services. Compensation is defined to include: money, property, endorsements, product reviews, or any other item or service that has a perceived or actual value to the Reader.

4. No Dissemination or Copying
The Beta Reader agrees not to post or publish any portion of the Work online or offline, including but not limited to forums, blogs, social media, email, or file-sharing platforms. The Beta Reader shall not save or store copies of the manuscript after the review period ends and agrees to delete any digital copies upon completion of the beta reading process with written confirmation of the deletion. Any physical copies made by the Beta Reader must be delivered to the Author after the review period and will only be returned to the Beta Reader at the Author's sole discretion.

6. Term and Termination
This Agreement shall remain in effect in perpetuity. Unlawful sharing of the work to third parties is covered by the U.S. Copyright Act (Title 17 of the U.S. Code), The Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (1886, as amended) and any other applicable local and national laws respecting copyright protections. The Author grants the Recipient a limited, non-transferable license to access and read the digital copy of The Archivist for personal, non-commercial purposes.

7. Acknowledgment
By accepting the manuscript for beta reading, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Agreement. I further understand that by selecting "I agree" below, I am providing my electronic consent, which will serve as the legal equivalent of my written signature.
